For our fifth birthday last year, we created a very special beer: Birthday Suit Eisbock. This anniversary Eisbock was a huge undertaking for our team. It spent five months in tank and was freeze distilled five times. We had to completely overhaul our chilling system in the brewery to make this happen.

And as usual, we had to take it one step further. So what do you do with a 20% quintuple ice-distilled Eisbock? Whack it into a whisky barrel of course! We got in touch with the folks at Kinglake Distillery, who delivered a rather wet barrel that over time has boosted our “little” Eisbock to 30% ABV. The barrel treatment has also lifted this "beer" toward a heavenly whisky soaked dessert territory, a smooth beverage to be enjoyed right away or cellared for many years.
