Sailors Grave Imperial Law Of The Tongue Smokey Oyster Stout

Imperial Law of the Tongue is an imperial smokey oyster stout brewed with Wapengo Rocks organic oysters to celebrate 10 years of Sailors Grave Brewing. Rich, robust and deeply layered, this limited release doubles down on our favourite oyster stout with bold smoked malt character and coastal salinity.

The beer tells the story of Old Tom, the famous orca who spent almost four decades working alongside Sapphire Coast whalers in the early 1900s. In return for helping drive baleen whales into Twofold Bay, Old Tom and his pod feasted on the lips and tongues before leaving the rest of the catch for the whalers. This remarkable partnership became known as the "Law of the Tongue".
