The original 1937 Toreador recipe pre-dates the first written Margarita formula and is a delicious balance of the white pepper and grassy notes of the Tequila Tromba Blanco (specially distilled for Curatif to U.S. specs with a focus on developing the agave profile beyond the typical highland style) with the sweetness and texture of Joseph Cartron Apricot Brandy and the acid crispness of fresh squeezed central Australian lime juice. The drink is then elevated with elements of delicate smoke imparted by Ilegal Joven Mezcal, which set against the background of lime, apricot, pepper, spice, and sweetness creates an exciting element of savoury delight.

Developed in collaboration with Black Pearl Bar in Fitzroy - one of the world's most awarded and recognisable bars - this drink is refined, moreish, and downright delicious.
