I saw a need for an amazing Chardonnay that woouldn’t break the bank... but how?
I decided to take some Chardonnay from the King Valley (87%) that was fruit forward and powerful then temper it with restrained and elegant Chardonnay from Tumbarumba (13%).
The fruit was whole bunch pressed straight into older French oak with each barrel able to develop independently to add complexity. After 9 months the wine was blended into tank ready for bottling.
The result is a wine that drinks well above it’s price point. The King valley component brings typical aromas and flavours of peach, nectarine and melon while the Tumbarumba component contributes white floral notes, minerality and racy acidity.
