Savoury and subtly spiced summer wine

This thirst-quenchingly dry rosé from Fleet is summer in a glass. Bright and floral with a salivating tail of acidity. It’s hard to believe how quickly a glass evaporates! 

‘Dusty pale pink colour, aromas of fresh strawberry, red currants, hint of herbal spice.  Palate is fine and savoury, a little textural, with a dry crisp finish.’

VINEYARD

• 70% Syrah + 30% Pinot Noir grown at Lucinda Estate vineyard in South Gippsland

• North facing rows

• .Fertile basalt clay loam soils (ferosols), free draining, east facing slope

• Planted in 1990

   

WINEMAKING

• Syrah component destemmed, pressed to neutral barriques (225lt)

• Lees stirred often to build texture and weight

• Pinot Noir received short maceration on skins prior to pressing to neutral puncheon (500lt)

• Wine was stirred, then racked prior to bottling

• Minimal sulphur at bottling
